The award winning Lake District Coast Aquarium, specialising in native British aquatic life has some fantastic displays of our weird and wonderful fishy neighbours.
The Maryport Maritime Museum provides information on Maryport's proud maritime heritage. There are a range of exhibits including paintings, models, and many interesting objects from a whales tooth to telescopes and tools etc. There are displays about "Fletcher Christian", famous for the "mutiny on the Bounty", and Thomas Ismay owner of the White Star Line and The Titanic. The museum building which was once the Queens Head Public House was built on one of the very first plots of land to be developed by Humphrey Senhouse II when the town was being built.

Maryport Golf Club was formed on January 21st 1905 and is now a well established 18 hole course, part links and part parkland. Located on Cumbria's Solway coast about one mile north of Maryport, it boasts amazing views across the Solway Firth, with panoramic views of the Scottish coastline and the Lake District Fells. Visitors are always welcome at Maryport Golf Club.
Senhouse Roman Museum is dramatically sited on the cliffs overlooking the Solway Firth. It is an award winning Museum next to the Roman fort probably founded on the orders of the emperor Trajan which was rebuilt during the reign of the emperor Hadrian, almost two thousand years ago.
